Emotional Freedom Technique
Emotional Freedom Technique, often called tapping, is a gentle, evidence‑based method that helps release emotional and physical tension by combining elements of acupressure and modern psychology.
During an EFT session, you use your fingertips to tap on specific points on the face and upper body — the same meridian points used in acupuncture — while focusing on a feeling, memory, or belief that needs healing. This rhythmic tapping helps calm the nervous system, reduce stress hormones, and restore balance to the body’s energy flow.
EFT acknowledges that emotions are not just mental experiences but are also stored in the body's electromagenetic energy field. By tapping while naming and accepting what you feel, you invite both mind and body into the healing process. Many people find relief from anxiety, grief, trauma, pain, and limiting beliefs, often experiencing a sense of lightness and clarity afterward.
Research has shown that EFT can lower cortisol levels, ease symptoms of anxiety and depression, and support emotional regulation. It’s simple to learn, can be practiced anywhere, and empowers individuals to participate actively in their own healing.
Dr. Felder has been teaching this technique to her clients for decades and continues to incorporate EFT into her myriad of other approaches she uses with clients.
