PREPARING FOR YOUR VIDEO APPOINTMENT
Healing is a journey that embraces the mind, body, and spirit.
Dr. Felder brings more than four decades of clinical experience to her practice, having begun her career at the Atlanta Psychiatric Clinic, where she worked alongside Carl Whitaker, M.D.—one of the founders of Marriage and Family Therapy—and many other practitioners who helped shape the early stages of the field. In her formative years, she worked closely with Tom Malone, Ph.D., M.D., who co authored The Roots of Psychotherapy with Whitaker; and with her father, Richard Felder, M.D., who, with Avrum Weiss, co authored Experiential Psychotherapy: A Symphony of Selves. And in 1997 Dr. Felder ‘s doctoral dissertation was entitled The Use of Spiritual Exercises for Ministering to Victims of Abuse Using Jungian Psychology and Liberation Theology.
As a highly experienced marriage and family therapist, Dr. Felder has devoted her life to helping individuals and couples find harmony and peace within themselves and in relationship with others. Her background is both rich and unique. She is not only a licensed therapist, but also a Healing Touch Practitioner, a retired ordained Presbyterian minister, and a trained hypnotherapist.
Her leadership has included serving as Chairperson of the Atlanta Chapter of the Georgia Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, President of the Biofeedback Society of Georgia, and President of the Stone Mountain Ministerial Association.
Dr. Felder is also an initiate in the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition of Shamanism and has studied with her Peruvian teacher, Oscar Miro Quesada, for more than 25 years. This long apprenticeship, combined with her clinical training, allows her to weave together psychological insight, spiritual wisdom, and energy-based healing in a way that supports deep, integrative transformation.
